Assunta Scutto

For Assunta Scutto, the tatami is much more than a competition arena: it is the place where she can express the truest version of herself.

Born in Naples on January 17, 2002, and raised in Scampia, she discovered judo at Star Judo Club Maddaloni, the renowned club that has developed some of Italy’s greatest champions. From there, she embarked on a remarkable journey that led her to win the World Junior Championship in 2021 and, four years later, the gold medal at the 2025 World Judo Championships in Budapest, following three consecutive World Championship medals. Competing for the Fiamme Gialle, she approaches every challenge with determination, humility, and a deep faith that she considers an essential part of her journey.

Believing that sport has the power to change lives, she hopes to inspire young people growing up in her neighborhood. Her next major goal is to stand on the Olympic podium at Los Angeles 2028.
