Andrea Macrì
Andrea Macrì is an Italian Paralympic athlete, born in 1991, and a defender in para ice hockey.
At the age of 17, he was involved in a serious accident that resulted in incomplete paraplegia, leading him to begin a rehabilitation journey at the Spinal Unit in Turin. It was there that he first encountered the Paralympic world, initially taking up wheelchair fencing—a sport that led him to compete at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Andrea’s life was radically transformed, a change he faced with a smile and a positive mindset, finding in sport a true rebirth.
He later discovered para ice hockey, eventually becoming a veteran of the Italian national team: European champion in 2011 and with three Paralympic appearances to his name.
