The Taekwondo martial artist Simone Alessio , was the first Italian to rise to the heady heights of World Champion status in 2019. He then went on to become a gold medalist once again in Baku 2023, in the 80 kg category. Having competed in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, he is now focusing his sights on one burning ambition: taking gold at Paris 2024.

The audience is crucial for me when I compete, even if they're all whistling at me. Because my arrogance tells me I've got everything it takes to win and, if I don't win, it's because I made a mistake
