Sara Curtis is the new rising star of Italian swimming, a young prodigy already making her mark on the history of the sport.

The first Italian swimmer ever to reach a World Championships final and to win a European medal in the 100-metre freestyle, Sara has not simply challenged established records – she has rewritten them. Among her most significant achievements is the world record in the 50-metre backstroke, set in 26’’56 at the 2026 European Championships in Paris, further cementing her place among the most exciting talents of her generation. A young swimmer with exceptional natural talent and a student-athlete at the University of Virginia in the United States, Sara is known for her bright and positive personality, as well as her determination to always give her very best, both for herself and for her family, her greatest supporters.
