Antonella Palmisano
Antonella Palmisano was born in Puglia with boundless energy and an insatiable curiosity for sport.
As a child, she raced between motocross and volleyball until her teachers and family encouraged her to take part in the Giochi della Gioventù—where her journey in race walking began. A discipline of endurance and control, it requires balance, strategy, and exceptional mental strength. It soon became her second skin, leading her to join the Fiamme Gialle and to win Olympic gold at Tokyo 2021, along with numerous World and European medals. Gifted with natural talent and outstanding tactical clarity, Antonella is now one of the world’s leading figures in her discipline. Known as “the race walker with the flower in her hair” for her love of hairstyles and her lucky hair clip created by her mother, she is a true example of determination, resilience, and the core values of sport.
