B) Data collection methods
Data is collected directly from the interested parties when they browse the website, interact with our content, send us emails through the ‘contact’ section, or request to subscribe to the newsletters via the website form (“Newsletter”).
In no case is the communication of data mandatory. However, the failure to provide such data could prevent Dao from fulfilling the requests received.
C) What data we process
When you access our website, your browser will transmit certain data to our web server. This is necessary for technical reasons and to provide you with the requested information. The Data Controller processes the following categories of personal data during your navigation of the website and use of its functions/services:
- Navigation data: Computer systems and software procedures responsible for the operation of the website acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols. These are information not collected to be associated with identified individuals, but which by their very nature could allow the identification of users. This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users who connect to the site, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file received in response, the numeric code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error), and other parameters related to the user’s operating system and computing environment. This data is used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information about the use of the site and to monitor its proper functioning, and is deleted immediately after processing.
- Cookies: Cookies collect information, including data that could potentially allow for the identification of an interested party. For data processing through cookies, please refer to the related Cookie Policy at the bottom of this page. Specifically, this site uses the Google Analytics service from Google, Inc. (hereinafter “Google”) to generate statistics on the use of the site; Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (not third-party cookies) that do not store personal data.
- Data provided voluntarily by the user:
- if you wish to subscribe to or are already subscribed to the website’s Newsletter, the personal data required to create the account (e.g., first name, last name, email address). Such communications consist of a weekly or monthly newsletter containing news and updates related to the world of sports and the athletes of Dao S.r.l., with no purpose of direct marketing or promotion of the company’s activities or those of third parties. Consent to receive such communications may be withdrawn at any time by contacting info@daospa.eu or by clicking on ‘unsubscribe’ in any of the newsletter emails;
- if you intend to contact Dao by sending e-mails to the addresses in the “contacts” section of the website (https://daosport.eu/contacts/), personal data and information necessary to handle your communication (such as first name, last name, e-mail address for possible feedback, as well as the content of the information or requests you transmitted).
D) Purpose of processing and its legal basis
Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes, and under the following legal bases.

6 – The Data Controller may send the Newsletters through automated systems managed by third parties, such as Mailchimp. In this case, the user’s data (e.g., email address and, if provided, first and last name) will be transferred to the service provider’s servers to enable the automated sending of communications. Mailchimp operates in compliance with GDPR regulations and has adopted appropriate security measures. E) Place of processing
Personal Data is processed at the operational offices of the Data Controller and at any other location where the parties involved in the processing are located. For more information, you can contact the Data Controller using the contact details provided in section A).
F) Who can access the processed personal data
These parties will process your personal data both on behalf of the Data Controller (therefore, as data processors) and as autonomous data controllers, upon appropriate notification by the Data Controller.
Specifically, the following categories of recipients will process your personal data:
- service providers necessary for the proper functioning of the website and its functions/services (e.g.: ICT service providers, hosting service providers, IT platform and application providers);
- jurisdictional, administrative and/or public security authorities, in accordance with legal provisions, for purposes of the detection and prosecution of offenses, prevention and safeguarding of risks or threats to security and public order, and for any reason related to the protection of the rights and freedoms of individuals;
- companies and entities belonging to the corporate group of which the Data Controller is a member (parents, subsidiaries, affiliates), to enable the provision of some of the services of the website.

G) For how long we store the processed personal data
Your personal data will be kept for varying periods of time depending on the nature and purpose of the processing. The retention periods for personal data are as follows:
- data related to your registration to the Newsletter: they will be kept until you request to unsubscribe from the Newsletter (or exercise any other right recognised by the legislation in force);
- data and information relating to contacts with the Data Controller: will be retained until your requests are processed and fulfilled.
If, at the end of the period above, personal data should be processed for specific purposes (e.g. to protect the rights of the Data Controller in the context of litigation), they will be retained until such purposes have been fulfilled (e.g. until the litigation has been settled).
At the end of the retention periods indicated above, your personal data will be deleted, or otherwise rendered unintelligible by the Controller.
H) Automated data processing
No processing of your personal data by automated decision-making processes (including profiling pursuant to Article 22(1) and (4) of the GDPR) is envisaged, except as provided for in the Cookie Policy.
I) User’s rights
You can contact the Data Controller to request access to your personal data and find out if they are being processed, request rectification, deletion, or limitation of processing, or object to the processing itself; you can also withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on consent before the withdrawal).
When exercising the right of access, you can request information on who is processing your data, for what purposes, for how long, with whom your data is shared, and whether it is transferred to third countries. You can also ask not to be subjected to automated processing, such as profiling.
You have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority and to request, at any time, information about the data processors and individuals authorized by the data controllers to process your data.
